“Me” has always been a giant subject to tackle — something I know intimately, yet find puzzling.
I had never thought I’d write a story about me someday over the internet.
I’m not one for defining myself – or letting others do it. Either.
“To define is to limit.” — Oscar Wilde.
This speaks straight to my soul. I often see defining as limiting. Similar to labeling. You put a definition or description into it, but aren’t you so much more than those? And a very tiny bit of all those definitions combined.
You don’t have to fit neatly into a particular definition or be inside a box wrapped in a main title when you can wear multiple hats simultaneously and be anything you want. A multifaceted person, not bound by definitions or labels.
A painter, an artist, a designer, a writer, a blogger, an entrepreneur, or maybe all of them rolled into one—OR MORE!
Why settle for one when you can be a whole vibe together?
Here’s a lil’ of this, a lil’ of that, and the stuff I’m composed of today:
#1: I’m a Jack of all Trades, master of none. I tend to try out a lot of my interests with less ability to stick around to one.
#2: Steve Irwin’s episodes of The Crocodile Hunter on Animal Planet always denoted my mealtimes back in my childhood. One of my favourite shows etched with nostalgia.
#3: Right after I did my graduation in commerce, I knew it wasn’t my cup of tea.
#4: I love watching documentaries rather than series. They take me to worlds, people, and ideas I may never otherwise know and require less screen time.
#5: Black is always my go-to colour. Regardless of the wear I plan to purchase, I always wind up with black.
#6: Chai is my full-time supporter. “ Headache? Chai.” “ Good feel? Chai.” “Bored? Chai.” Two cups a day is a minimum. Let’s not put a limit on it.
#7: I’m content with my own company. Sometimes, I’m my favourite person to hang out with.
#8: My first and only pet is Gustavo, a furry German Shepherd.
#9: I finally ticked off my childhood dream of starting a blog last year!
Little me would be so proud!
#10: Travel brings out the best in me. The outdoors gives me confidence I don’t usually have at home.
#11: Art galleries and music festivals are two extremes I love alike.
#12: In 2018, I began an art initiative, Sankalp, rooting for upcycling, and now expanded to digital designs and handmade pendants.
#13: “Begin again” is my mantra. There’s always a next day for you to start life from scratch. And, anytime!
#14: I find legit joy in decluttering and cleaning things.
#15: I have this big, huge crush on NYC and would kill it to slow travel/stay there for a month at least.
#16: Biriyani? I can eat biriyani anytime, any day!
#17: Ocean runs free in my blood.
(Yes, my second tattoo has elements of the ocean in it.)
#18: I’m a classic Nov Sagi. Haha, yasss! Adventure and curiosity run in my veins.
#19: The older I get, the more deeply I live out my core values.
#20: A knack for creativity and travel runs in my family too!
#21: Gratefulness is my root strength, and I always stand strong on it.
#22: Procrastination and perfectionism are something I’m still battling over.
#23: I’m such a deep sleeper that I can nod off anywhere, anytime (when sleepy), and be completely unaware of what’s going on around me.
#24: My gut feeling always says that my best years are ahead of me.
#25: Scrap the “life checklist”!! It’s overrated!
Let your life happen when it is meant to! Everyone has their timing, so why stress over the societal checklist?
I have never planned my life much, and somehow I’ve always been directed into bigger and better things! Perhaps it’s simply that my plans almost always go off track; I don’t plan much.
The idea of me, myself, is a constantly shifting, evolving concept.
My life is often guided by a mind map, driven by curiosity, dreams, and intuition, and it has always opened bright, beautiful doors for me! The little-big life moments I cherish arise more from brief, spontaneous decisions than long-awaited big plans.
The mosaics of me that have lived and are living only make up a tiny picture of the life trip! However, there is a lot more to me and this life!
The biggest part is yet to be lived and explored.
And that’s when all the fun happens!
Isn’t it?
Thanks for sticking by! <3

You sound like such a multifaceted, interesting person, Anjali! I can't wait to read more of your work.
Thank you for sharing all of these. I feel like we have a ton in common and some of them spoke to my soul.
